CNC spindle repair for Hungary
The workshop is in Sankt Augustin near Bonn, and it is the only place we repair spindles. No branch, no warehouse and no staff in Hungary. Paul Kloss owns and runs it. A spindle from Gyor, Kecskemet or Szekesfehervar travels to us on a pallet, with your own forwarder handling the road leg.
The market
What Hungarian plants are running
Hungarian manufacturing leans on two pillars. One is automotive: engine and vehicle production around Gyor, Kecskemet and Esztergom, with component suppliers spread through the north-west and along the M1 and M5 corridors. The other is electronics, concentrated around Budapest, Szekesfehervar and Tatabanya. Behind both sits a solid tool, mould and die trade. From that mix we see high-speed milling spindles out of mould shops, production motor spindles from machining centres, and smaller electro-spindles from engraving and precision work, usually with bearing or seal damage.
Getting the spindle here
Road freight and paperwork from Hungary
As an EU member state Hungary needs no customs procedure for this: the spindle travels on standard transport documents and your commercial paperwork. The route to the Rhineland runs through Austria and southern Germany and is served daily by groupage operators, so it is a matter of days rather than weeks, though transit time is the forwarder's responsibility and sits outside any workshop estimate. On-site work in Hungary is only realistic if it is technically arranged in advance, with parts and instruments selected for the specific fault.

Questions
Hungary spindle repair — frequently asked
The spindle is stripped and measured first, then you receive a written quotation covering parts, labour and what we intend to do. Nothing is repaired until you accept it. Inspection and teardown are chargeable work in their own right, so the quotation is the point at which the cost becomes fixed, not the starting enquiry.
That is outside what a repair workshop can promise. We hold no exchange units and no loan spindles, so the machine is down for the repair plus the transport in both directions. If downtime is critical, plan a spare spindle with your machine builder. We would rather say that now than imply otherwise.
Both are inspected as a matter of course. Taper wear, fretting and pull-out marks are measured, the drawbar force is checked, and the report says what was found. Regrinding the taper is possible in many cases. Where it is not, we tell you rather than dress the surface and hand the problem back to you.
Send us the spindle details
Tell us the machine model, the spindle type and what the machine is doing wrong. We come back with an initial assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
