CNC spindle repair for Ireland
We are an independent spindle repair workshop in Sankt Augustin, near Bonn. There is no Irish office, no store and no staff on the island; the whole job happens in one German workshop. Because Ireland is in the EU, a crated spindle moves to us as an ordinary internal shipment, and is quoted in writing before any work begins.
Getting the spindle here
An EU shipment with no customs formalities
Ireland is inside the EU, so no customs formalities apply between your shop and our workshop. Most crates go by road and ferry, either direct to the continent or across the land bridge, in which case your forwarder handles the transit procedure through Britain. Allow a few days each way and pack the spindle upright with the taper protected. On-site work in Ireland is possible only by prior technical arrangement. Sending the machine model and spindle number with the crate saves a day at this end.
The market
Medical devices, pharma tooling and subcontract work
Irish machining is weighted towards medical devices and pharmaceutical tooling, with clusters around Galway, Limerick and Cork, plus a solid base of precision subcontract shops serving them. That shows in the spindles: small, high-speed units from milling centres and Swiss-type work, grinding spindles from mould and die shops, and a steady flow of older machining centre spindles that are worth rebuilding because the machine around them is still sound and the builder no longer offers an exchange unit. Most arrive after a crash, a bearing failure or slowly rising vibration readings.

Questions
Ireland spindle repair — frequently asked
No customs formalities arise on an Ireland to Germany movement, because both are in the EU single market. If your forwarder routes the crate across the British land bridge, they will run the transit procedure for that leg. Freight cost and insurance are still worth agreeing with them before the spindle leaves. Ask them to allow for return carriage too.
Typically 5 to 10 working days from arrival, depending on parts availability and what the teardown reveals. That is an estimate, not a committed date; a binding date is only valid if we confirm it in writing. Ferry and road transit each way sits on top and is arranged by your forwarder. We tell you the day the spindle lands.
Nothing is free, and we would rather say so plainly. The spindle is stripped, the shaft, bearing seats and taper are measured, and you receive a written quotation covering parts and labour. Repair work starts only after you accept that quotation. Declining it is fine; we report the findings and send the unit back. You pay carriage in both directions.

Tell us the machine model, the spindle type and what the machine is doing wrong. We come back with an initial assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
