CNC spindle repair for Israel
We are an independent spindle repair workshop in Sankt Augustin, near Bonn in Germany, run by Paul Kloss. All work is done here; there is nothing of ours in Israel. Spindles from Israeli plants normally travel by air out of Ben Gurion to Frankfurt or Cologne, then a short road leg to us.
Getting the spindle here
Air freight and export formalities
Israel is outside the EU customs union, so customs formalities apply in both directions. Your own freight forwarder handles them; a temporary export with re-import after repair is usually the right procedure, and it is worth agreeing that with the forwarder before the crate leaves. Air freight keeps the transit short, which matters for a high-value spindle. On-site work in Israel is possible only by prior technical arrangement, so the necessary parts and instruments travel with the technician.
The market
Precision work in Israeli plants
Israeli machining is weighted towards defence, aerospace, medical devices and semiconductor equipment, with a dense subcontract sector around Haifa, the coastal plain and the Negev. That mix brings high-speed and high-precision spindles: HSK and ceramic-bearing motor spindles from five-axis centres, small-diameter units from Swiss-type lathes, and grinding spindles held to tight runout. Work of that kind is measured rather than guessed at, so balancing, runout and thermal behaviour are documented before and after, and the findings go into the written quotation.

Questions
Israel spindle repair — frequently asked
That is your forwarder's call, not ours. In practice a temporary export from Israel with re-import after repair is usually the sensible route, since the spindle is the same item coming back. We cannot advise on duties, taxes or clearance times; we only issue the repair documents your forwarder asks us for.
For a common spindle with a local exchange unit available, air freight to Germany and back rarely pays for itself. For a rare, high-value or discontinued spindle, or one the machine builder no longer supports, it often does. Tell us the make, type and serial number and we will give you an honest view before you book anything.
Typically 5 to 10 working days from arrival, depending on parts availability and what the teardown reveals. That is an estimate, not a committed date; a binding date is valid only if we confirm it in writing. Air transit and clearance in both directions are extra and sit with your forwarder.

Send us the spindle details
Tell us the machine model, the spindle type and what the machine is doing wrong. We come back with an initial assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
