CNC spindle repair for Lithuania
Paul Kloss runs a small independent spindle workshop in Sankt Augustin, near Bonn. That one workshop is where every repair is carried out, and we keep no branch, no stock and no staff in Lithuania. A spindle from Vilnius, Kaunas or Klaipeda travels to us by road on a pallet, with a forwarder you appoint.

For its size Lithuania has an unusual industrial mix: a well-established photonics and laser sector, a large furniture industry, and a broad metal subcontract base around Kaunas, Vilnius and Siauliai. Precision work sits next to high-volume panel and profile machining. What comes across the bench is mostly milling spindles from vertical machining centres and CNC routers, together with lathe spindles from turning shops. Router and nesting-machine spindles usually arrive worn by dust ingress and bearing contamination. Machining-centre spindles more often show bearing damage, a pulled drawbar or a bruised taper.

Freight route from Lithuania
Lithuania is in the EU, so no customs entry is required and the spindle moves on ordinary transport documents. The run from Kaunas or Klaipeda to the Rhineland is a routine groupage leg, but it is still a couple of days in each direction, and that time is not part of any workshop estimate. Crate or pallet the unit with the shaft supported. Attendance at the machine in Lithuania only makes sense when it is arranged technically in advance, so the technician brings the right instruments and parts.

No. There is one workshop, in Sankt Augustin near Bonn, and no branch, warehouse, partner or permanent staff anywhere else. Every repair is done on our own benches. If someone genuinely has to see the machine, that visit has to be arranged technically beforehand so the right instruments and spare parts travel with the technician.
You do, or your usual forwarder does. We are not a freight company and we do not take responsibility for the transit leg. Most Lithuanian customers use a groupage service they already work with. Tell us the collection date once it is fixed, so the spindle is expected and goes straight into the inspection queue on arrival.
When the unit is a common type that can be exchanged locally at short notice. For an ordinary router or machining-centre spindle with a stock replacement available, freight to Germany and back rarely pays for itself. For a rare, high-value or discontinued spindle it usually does, and we will say plainly which of the two we think you have.
