CNC spindle repair for Saudi Arabia
We are an independent CNC spindle workshop in Sankt Augustin, near Bonn in Germany, run by Paul Kloss. All repairs are done in that workshop and nowhere else. A spindle from Saudi Arabia usually flies out of Dammam, Riyadh or Jeddah to Frankfurt, then travels the last stretch to us by road.
The market
Spindles from Saudi plants
Most metalworking in the Kingdom is maintenance-driven: oil and gas, petrochemical plant at Jubail and Yanbu, pipe and valve shops, and a growing base of general engineering and defence work under the Vision 2030 programme. The machine tools behind that are a broad mix, from old manual-conversion mills to recent machining centres. Spindles that come to us are typically motor spindles from vertical centres and heavy boring spindles, with the usual desert-plant problems: fine dust past the seals, dry bearings, and shafts damaged by a crash.
Getting the spindle here
The long haul from the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia is outside the EU, so customs formalities apply in both directions and your own forwarder handles them; a temporary export with re-import after repair is usually the correct procedure to ask for. Air cargo from Dammam, Riyadh or Jeddah is the practical route for anything under a few hundred kilograms. Transit and clearance time sit on top of our workshop time and are not ours to promise. On-site work is possible only by prior technical arrangement.

Questions
Saudi Arabia spindle repair — frequently asked
Often not. For a common spindle that can be exchanged or rebuilt locally, freight and customs handling to Germany and back rarely pay for themselves. For a rare, high-value or discontinued unit, or one that has already been rebuilt badly, it usually does. We will say so either way once we have seen the nameplate and the fault.
No. There is one workshop in Germany, with no branch, no warehouse, no partner firm and no permanent staff in the Kingdom. If a machine cannot be released and the work has to happen on site, that can be arranged in advance, but only after we have discussed the machine and fault in technical detail.
A written quotation. The spindle is dismantled and measured first, then you receive the findings, the parts needed and the price in writing, and work starts only when you approve it. Nothing is free. Repair usually takes 5 to 10 working days from arrival; that is an estimate and not a committed date.
Send us the spindle details
Tell us the machine model, the spindle type and what the machine is doing wrong. We come back with an initial assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
