CNC spindle repair for Slovenia
We are an independent spindle workshop near Bonn, in Sankt Augustin, run by Paul Kloss. All the work happens on those benches, and we have no branch, no partner and no staff in Slovenia. A spindle from Ljubljana, Maribor or Novo Mesto comes to us as palletised road freight, booked by a forwarder you appoint.
Getting the spindle here
Over the Alps to Sankt Augustin
No customs procedure applies within the EU, so the spindle travels on ordinary transport documents. The road route crosses Austria or northern Italy and Switzerland depending on the operator, and takes a few days each way on a groupage service. That transit is your forwarder's business and is added to any workshop estimate, not included in it. If the spindle is a common unit your builder can exchange quickly, say so and we will tell you honestly whether sending it is worth the freight.
The market
Tool and die work in Slovenia
Slovenia is a small country with a disproportionate amount of precision manufacturing. Automotive components, electrical and drive parts, and a strong tool, mould and die trade are spread through Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Kranj and the Novo Mesto area, much of it supplying German and Italian assemblers. Mould shops in particular run high-speed spindles hard, and those are the units we most often see: HSK and shrink-fit spindles with worn bearing sets, lost preload or a taper that has started to fret under heavy side loads.

Questions
Slovenia spindle repair — frequently asked
Yes, those form a large part of the work. Bearing sets are replaced as matched pairs or sets, the rotor assembly is balanced, and the unit is run in on the test stand before it goes back. We record the results, but we do not claim a repaired spindle is equivalent to a new one.
Count the repair and the transport separately. The repair is typically five to ten working days from arrival, depending on parts and what the teardown reveals, and that is an estimate rather than a committed date. Road transit from Slovenia and back adds several days in each direction and is arranged by your forwarder.
Not as a standing service, because nobody is based there. What is possible is a visit arranged in advance around a specific, described fault, so the technician travels with the right instruments and parts. Anything requiring bearing work, balancing or taper grinding goes back to the workshop in Germany regardless.
