Milling machines and CNC machining centres
Vertical, horizontal and 5-axis centres: motor spindles, belt-driven and direct-drive spindles, SK, BT, CAT and HSK tapers, drawbars and through-spindle coolant.
Machine types
The spindle of a machining centre, a CNC router, a lathe or a grinding machine is built differently, and it wears differently. These pages group our spindle repair work by machine type: how the unit is built, what wears first and what we do with it in our workshop in Sankt Augustin, Germany. Choose your machine type, or send a photo of the spindle plate and we identify the unit for you.
Overview
Each machine type has its own page with the spindle designs, typical symptoms and the repair sequence.
Vertical, horizontal and 5-axis centres: motor spindles, belt-driven and direct-drive spindles, SK, BT, CAT and HSK tapers, drawbars and through-spindle coolant.
Electrospindles with ER collet, ISO30 and HSK F63 for wood, stone, plastics and aluminium: bearings, automatic tool change, cooling, windings.
Belt-driven and built-in-motor main spindles, sub-spindles, chuck cylinders, C-axis and driven tools in the turret.
Wheelhead and workhead spindles, high-speed internal grinding motor spindles, precision bearings and balancing.
Identification
Four features describe the unit before it is even removed. Photograph them and we prepare the assessment faster.
On the spindle or motor: maker, type, serial number, speed and power. The machine builder often adds its own label next to it.
Built-in motor (motor spindle), belt, direct-drive coupling or gearbox. The housing and connections show which.
ER collet, SK, BT, CAT, ISO30 or HSK taper, chuck flange or grinding wheel flange.
Fan, liquid jacket, through-spindle coolant, oil-air lubrication or grease.
Questions
Send a photo of the plate and a short description. Boring, drilling and special-purpose machines share the same core elements — bearings, shaft, seals, drive — and we propose a scope of work for your spindle.
Here the repair is described by machine design. The machine brand pages cover the specifics of individual builders and spindle makers.
By courier or freight forwarder from anywhere in Europe and beyond. Within the EU there is no customs paperwork; for other countries we help with the export and return documents. For removal and refitting we also offer on-site service.
Yes. After diagnostics you receive a written quotation with inspection photos, and the repair starts once you approve it.
Machine type and model, a photo of the plate and a description of the symptoms — that is enough for an initial assessment. Repairs are carried out in our own workshop in Germany, with new parts sourced from the European market.
Scope
Every operation below is done in our own workshop in Germany. Follow a link for what it involves and what we need from you.
Machine brand
We are independent and work with spindles of every builder. These are the makes whose spindles come across the bench most often.
Quote
Tell us the machine model, the spindle type and what the machine is doing wrong. We come back with an initial assessment and a written quote before any work begins.
