Siemens Spindle Motors and Spare Parts

Siemens is mainly a maker of CNC controls, drives and spindle motors rather than of machine tools: Sinumerik controls, SINAMICS drives and Siemens spindle motors are built into machines from dozens of European and Asian manufacturers. When the spindle of such a machine stops, the part needed is usually a motor, a built-in rotor and stator kit, an encoder or a Siemens sensor module. We source these on the German market and check them in our workshop.

Motors and assemblies

1PH motors, built-in 1FE motors and Sinumerik machines

The 1PH7 and 1PH8 induction spindle motors (and the water-cooled 1PH4 on older machines) drive the spindle via a belt or coupling. Their bearings, forced-ventilation fan and encoder are the typical wear parts, and the winding can be rewound when needed.

The 1FE1 and 1FE2 built-in synchronous motors come as a rotor and stator kit that motor spindle makers, including Weiss, build directly into the spindle. They are used in machining centres and lathes with Sinumerik 840D sl, 828D and earlier controls, with feedback via DRIVE-CLiQ encoders or SMC/SMI sensor modules.

How to order

How to identify a Siemens motor or encoder

The Siemens nameplate carries the order code (MLFB), the most reliable identifier, and we work from it.

  1. 1

    Nameplate photo with MLFB

Photograph the motor nameplate: code such as 1PH7… or 1FE1… and the serial number. For an encoder, its label.

  2. 2

    Machine data

Tell us the machine make, model and Sinumerik version. This helps confirm encoder and parameter compatibility.

  3. 3

    Identification and quote

We look for a new, reconditioned or exchange option; availability and delivery time are confirmed after your enquiry.

  4. 4

    Testing and fitting

We check insulation, bearings and encoder signals. On request we build the 1FE kit into your motor spindle.

Why us

Why order Siemens motors through us

Workshop in Germany

Siemens is a German brand, and its parts are most readily found on the German market.

Electrical testing

Insulation resistance, windings, temperature sensor and encoder are checked before dispatch.

Fitting into the motor spindle

Rotor pressing, stator installation, balancing and run-in in our workshop.

Simple shipping

Within the EU without customs paperwork; outside the EU we help with export documents.

FAQ

Siemens parts: frequently asked questions

It is the Siemens order code. It is printed on the motor nameplate next to the serial number and fully describes the version: power, speed, encoder type and flange.

Often yes, after checking dimensions, encoder and drive parameters. We prepare a comparison for your machine.

In most cases a new encoder or cable solves it. After replacement the encoder has to be commissioned correctly on the drive, and we explain the procedure.

The 1FE stator and rotor are matched as a pair by code; we propose options after checking the nameplate and the condition of the existing parts.

Request

Send us the MLFB code of your Siemens motor

A nameplate photo and the machine data are all we need. We reply with options and ship across Europe and worldwide.
