Haas Spindles and Spare Parts

Haas designs its machines for fast unit replacement: the spindle of a vertical machining centre is a cartridge that is removed and fitted as a whole. That is a real advantage when the right part is at hand. We source cartridges, drawbars, unclamp pistons, belts and encoders for Haas machines, check them in our workshop in Germany and ship them to you.

Parts for VF, UMC and ST

VF vertical centres and the compact Mini Mill use 40-taper spindles (CAT40 or BT40) in several versions: belt-driven, direct-drive (inline) and, on larger models, with a two-speed gearbox. UMC five-axis machines share the spindle design but run long cycles under higher load, so bearings and drawbar need attention more often.

ST lathes have a main spindle with an A2-5, A2-6 or A2-8 flange nose, belt drive and spindle encoder, plus a hydraulic chuck cylinder. A typical Haas feature is the pneumatic tool release piston (TRP), which together with the drawbar disc springs determines clamping reliability.

How to order

How to order a part for your Haas

The machine serial number is the most precise reference for a Haas spindle configuration: it defines speed, taper and drive type.

  1. 1

    Serial number and model

Send a photo of the machine plate and of the screen showing the software version. The spindle cartridge has its own plate, so photograph that too.

  2. 2

    Identification

We check the configuration and select a cartridge or individual parts: new original, equivalent-quality part or reconditioned unit.

  3. 3

    Quote

You receive the options with prices; availability and delivery time are confirmed after your enquiry.

  4. 4

    Dispatch and fitting

The cartridge is run in and shipped, or we work on your own cartridge in our workshop, for example with new bearings.

FAQ

Haas parts: frequently asked questions

Check the air pressure and the condition of the TRP piston; often the drawbar springs are fatigued. We select a repair kit or a complete drawbar.

Changing the spindle type involves the motor, drive and parameters. We tell you what such an upgrade requires for your model.

The taper (CAT or BT) and other details can differ. We identify parts by the serial number of your machine.

The price depends on the option: new, reconditioned or exchange. After identification you receive a quote with prices.
