Spindle drawbars and collets for CNC machines to order

The drawbar holds the tool in the spindle taper with a force of several tonnes and runs through the clamp and release cycle thousands of times a shift. When clamping force drops, the result is vibration, fretting marks on the taper and the risk of a tool holder coming loose. We supply drawbars, collets, disc spring packs, release cylinders and pull studs for HSK, SK, BT and CAT systems to order, with inspection and fitting in our workshop.

Which clamping system parts we supply

A spindle clamping system is a chain of parts, and the condition of each one affects clamping force. So we look at the whole unit rather than a single part: drawbar, collet, springs, cylinder and pull stud. We work with spindles of all makes and source across the European market, from complete clamping units to equivalent parts and rebuilt drawbars on exchange.

Drawbars and clamping units

Complete drawbars and individual rods for machining centre and lathe spindles, including Ott-Jakob type clamping units fitted in many European spindles. Identified from the part number, a drawing or the old drawbar.

HSK, SK and BT collets and grippers

Segment collets and grippers for HSK-A, HSK-E and HSK-F, and ball or segment grippers for SK (DIN 69871), BT (MAS 403) and CAT. A worn collet is a frequent cause of unstable clamping with an intact drawbar.

Disc spring packs

Disc springs generate the clamping force and gradually lose height over millions of cycles. We supply sets with the right number, stacking and characteristic for your drawbar, together with guide sleeves.

Release cylinders

Hydraulic and pneumatic release cylinders, pistons, seals and repair kits. A leaking cylinder or slow release shows at every tool change, so these parts are worth keeping in stock.

Pull studs and small parts

Pull studs to DIN 69872, ISO 7388 and MAS 403 BT for your holders, plus balls, rings, drawbar position sensors and fasteners. We match the pull stud to the drawbar type so the gripping geometry fits.

Clamping force check

As an option we measure the actual clamping force with a gauge for your taper, before and after replacing parts. You see whether the unit is back at the manufacturer's values.

When to order

Signs of drawbar and collet wear

Most clamping problems show before a failure. If the control reports clamp sensor alarms and holders come out with marks on the taper, it is time to check clamping force and prepare replacement parts. In multi-shift operation with frequent tool changes, springs and collets wear noticeably faster.

  • Tool slipping or vibration during heavy milling
  • Fretting or impact marks on the spindle taper or holders
  • Drawbar position sensor alarms, slow tool change
  • Oil or air leaking from the release cylinder
  • Measured clamping force below the specified value
  • Damaged or worn pull studs on some holders

Ordering

How to order clamping system parts

  1. 1

Nameplate, photos or the old part

Send a photo of the spindle nameplate, the machine model, the taper type and, if possible, photos of the drawbar or collet. A part number from the documentation works as well.

  2. 2

    Identification

We determine the design of the clamping unit and offer a part in original or equivalent quality, or a rebuilt drawbar on exchange.

  3. 3

    Quote

You receive the options with price and delivery time, confirmed for your request. The decision is yours.

  4. 4

    Shipping or fitting

We ship the parts by courier, or we fit the drawbar, set the release stroke and measure the clamping force.

Why us

Why order clamping parts from us

A clamping system needs precise adjustment: even the right part, fitted without measurement, gives an unstable clamping force. That is why we combine supply with inspection and fitting.

European sourcing

Drawbars, collets and springs in original or equivalent quality from established European manufacturers.

Checked against your unit

Before dispatch we check dimensions, gripper type and pull stud compatibility against your spindle.

Fitting and force check

We fit the drawbar, adjust the release stroke and record the clamping force in the report.

Shipping across Europe

Courier or freight forwarder to any address in Europe and worldwide.

Simple paperwork

Within the EU no customs formalities; outside the EU we help with export and return documents.

Questions

Questions about drawbars and collets

Yes, if the drawbar rod, collet and fits are in good condition. We match the springs to your drawbar and measure clamping force after assembly, which shows whether new springs were enough.

We need the HSK size and form (for example A63 or F63), the spindle model and ideally a photo or the part number of the existing collet. From that we identify the right gripper and check compatibility with the drawbar.

A professionally rebuilt drawbar that you receive in place of your worn one; you return the old drawbar to us. This option is practical when the machine has to run again quickly.

Clamping force determines the stiffness of the tool-to-spindle connection. The measurement shows the condition of springs and collet without dismantling and gives a reference for the next maintenance interval.

Yes. We carry out the replacement on site by arrangement, or you send the spindle to our workshop, where we replace the parts and run the spindle in.
