Mitsubishi Spindle Motors and Spare Parts
Mitsubishi Electric builds CNC controls, spindle motors and drives, and also EDM and laser machines. Its M70, M80 and M800 controls run milling machines and lathes from many machine builders, and the spindle on these machines is driven by an SJ-series induction motor together with an MDS drive. Mitsubishi machining centres themselves were built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, today Nidec Machine Tool. We source SJ-V, SJ-D and SJ-DJ spindle motors and their parts — bearings, fans, built-in sensors — as well as mechanical spindle units, and check and fit them in our workshop in Germany.
What we supply
SJ spindle motors and drive-side parts
A Mitsubishi spindle motor is a separate unit connected to the spindle by a belt, a coupling or directly. Its nameplate gives the series, power and rated speed, and that is what we use to identify a replacement or the parts for a rebuild.
SJ-V, SJ-D, SJ-DJ motors
New and rebuilt spindle motors in the matching series and power rating, plus exchange units when the machine has to be back in production quickly.
Motor bearings
Rotor bearings in the right class and clearance for high speeds, shaft seals and the parts that hold the pulley or coupling.
Sensors and encoders
Built-in motor speed sensors, encoders for spindle orientation, magnetic position sensors and feedback cables with connectors.
Mechanical spindle
Spindle units, bearing sets from makers such as FAG, SKF or NSK, drawbars and collets for machines with Mitsubishi controls.
The fan units of SJ motors are often the first part to fail because of dust and chips. We match replacement fans to the motor frame size.
Benefits
What you get when you order through us
Emergency stops at high speed, voltage dips and dirty cooling air put drives and spindle sensors under stress, and an encoder or motor bearing is often the part that takes the hit. A spare sensor or fan on the shelf is a sensible investment.
European sourcing
Mitsubishi parts and equivalents from leading makers, sourced on the European market — the quote states original or equivalent.
Motor check
Before dispatch we test the winding insulation, check smooth rotation and the condition of the bearings.
Exchange motors
A rebuilt exchange motor shortens downtime; we confirm the option with your quote.
Fitting
We replace bearings or sensors in our workshop and test the motor on the bench.
Shipping
By courier or freight forwarder across Europe and worldwide, packed for the journey.
A clear quote
All options in one written quote, so you decide between new, rebuilt, exchange or parts.
How to order
Four steps to the right part
-
1
Motor nameplate
Photograph the spindle motor nameplate (SJ series, type, power) and, if possible, the MDS drive nameplate in the control cabinet.
-
2
Machine data
Tell us the machine builder, the model and the control version — M70, M80 or M800. For mechanical parts add a photo of the spindle head.
-
3
Identification and quote
We match the data to the part and set out the options; availability and delivery are confirmed in the quote.
-
4
Delivery and fitting
We ship the part to you, or fit it in our workshop and test the motor together with the spindle.
FAQ
Mitsubishi spindle parts — common questions
Yes, as long as the motor data match the MDS drive and the CNC parameters. We check this and offer compatible options.
If the winding is sound, new bearings and rotor balancing are usually enough. Send the motor in and we test it and recommend the most economical route.
This page covers spindle motors and spindles. For other assemblies send us the machine model and part number, and we check sourcing on the European market.
Yes. We take your motor in exchange for a rebuilt unit of the same series and power, and confirm the exchange option right after your request.
A photo of the motor nameplate, the sensor part number if it is readable and the alarm shown on the CNC. This lets us match exactly the right sensor type.
