Okuma Spindle Units and Spare Parts

Okuma designs its own spindle, motor, encoder and OSP control, so every spare part has to match the exact build of the machine series. From our workshop near Bonn we source spindle units, bearing sets, drawbars and sensors for Okuma machines on the European market, check them before dispatch and ship them to you, with fitting in our workshop as an option.

Series and assemblies

Okuma machines we supply parts for

The most common requests are for vertical machining centres of the MB-V series, horizontal MA-H and MB-H centres, LB lathes and Multus multitasking machines, which combine a turning spindle with a milling head. Bridge-type MCR machines and GENOS models are also part of the range.

On Okuma machining centres most of the load falls on the front bearing set and the drawbar; on LB lathes it is the main spindle bearings and the rotating chuck cylinder. On a Multus the turning spindle and the H1 milling head spindle are separate assemblies with their own part numbers, so we identify which one you need first.

Spindle units and cartridges

New, reconditioned or exchange units for MB and MA machining centres and for the Multus milling head.

  • milling spindles with BT40, BT50 and HSK tapers
  • LB lathe spindle assemblies
  • exchange units from a reconditioned pool

Bearings and seals

Matched sets of angular contact bearings in the same precision class, plus labyrinth and lip seals.

  • makes such as FAG, SKF, GMN, NSK
  • spacer rings for the correct preload
  • coolant seals

Clamping system

Drawbar, disc spring stack, collet and unclamping cylinder for Okuma milling spindles.

  • drawbars and collets for BT and HSK
  • disc springs as a complete stack
  • rotary unions for through-spindle coolant

Encoders and sensors

Spindle position and orientation sensors with connecting cables. We confirm compatibility from the marking on the old part.

How to order

How to identify a part for your Okuma

Okuma marks its spindle units with its own drawing numbers, so a photo of the nameplate is the quickest way to the correct part.

  1. 1

    Nameplate photos

Photograph the machine plate (model and serial number), the spindle or motor nameplate and, if possible, the label on the old part. The OSP control version helps as well.

  2. 2

    Identification

We match the part number against documentation and the market: original or equivalent-quality new part, or a reconditioned unit.

  3. 3

    Quote with options

You receive the options with prices. Availability and delivery time are confirmed after your enquiry and stated in the quote.

  4. 4

    Shipping or fitting

We inspect the part and ship it by courier or freight forwarder. On request we fit it in our workshop, with run-in and balancing.

FAQ

Okuma parts: frequently asked questions

The spindle housing, or the cover next to it, usually carries a plate with the drawing number and serial number. If it is hidden, send us the machine plate: the serial number shows the machine configuration.

Units within one series differ in speed, taper and bearing arrangement. That is why we identify the part by number rather than by appearance.

That depends on the condition of the shaft and housing. After inspection we show you both options with prices, and you decide.

Yes. The springs are best replaced as a complete stack, together with a clamping force check, which we carry out in our workshop.

After installation the spindle orientation and drive parameters are checked. We tell you exactly what to check, and on-site support can be arranged on request.

A photo of the machine plate and the spindle nameplate is enough for a first identification. We reply with options and ship the parts across Europe and worldwide.
